Space Tours founder Mitch Wellings is responsible for the third voyage into soundspheres on the label. Simply going by the name of Space Tours 003 the Stoke-on-Trent-based artist delivers three original cuts on the latest EP, while Youandewan provide a remix for the title track to complete the package. With the EP already gaining support from fabric resident Anna Wall, who dropped Dubby Proggy Spacey Thing in her latest Rinse FM show with Londoner Len Lewis, and Moxie spinning the Youandewan Remix of Playing Our Game in her Circoloco podcast, the time has come to discover the orginal version of the beforementioned track. Playing Our Game is a playful spacey track with a soft-bouncing and groovey bass line, which is enriched with an intriguing chord sequence and little glitchy and fizzling elements as well as a warm vocal sample that round off the harmonic overall vibe that’s present allthrough the seven minute and twenty seconds lasting outer space journey. However, the short break-ish intermezzo within the last third of the track followed by the lead synth-melody isolated from all others sounds offers a new facet and lets one enjoy the beauty of the cords as well as the calmness that comes with.
