EXCLUSIVE Jacob Stoy ‘Wanna Be’ [Uncanny Valley]

Switching back and forth between several musical projects that have their roots in the club or art world, it’s Berliner Jacob Stoy, who releases his now fourth album Das unendliche Konstrukt on Uncanny Valley. With each track capturing the mood of the moment when it was produced, the entire 16-track comprising album was produced in three sessions – in or next to bed. Reducing the equipment to a minimum of components yet using different ones when working on a track, each track from Stoy’s album has its own story to tell and covers or rather captures the artist’s preference for influences from several genres. Wanna Be, the fifth track from the album, has a HipHop-esque note with a bass line that’s meant to spit some bars over Jacob however uses a raw and untuned vocal sample repeating the track title’s name and chimes together with some edgy chords throughout the end and lets the track be what it’s want to be: a musical snapshot of an artist (during the pandemic).

Jacob Stoy’s LP Das unendliche Konstrukt will be released on Uncanny Valley on March 31st, 2021.
