Jersey tastemaker, 2MR label head and part of electronic duo Pale Blue Mike Simonetti drops his album ‘Solipsism’, a collection of music that was written between 2006 and 2013 and depicts the artist’s musical reflection and retrospect of that time. The album’s opening track, ‘The Edge’, is a slow synths-influenced take that, of course and in best Simonetti style, includes memorable riffs. A dark chord marks ‘The Edge’s’ beginning and is enriched with a spoken vocal in French and piano chords and make it hard for the listener to escape from Simonetti’s created atmosphere. And just as you think ‘The Edge’s’ story has been told a downtempo bass line sets in that raises the melancholia of the track to another level and to the next track.
