Late summer has its own rhythm. The days are still long, dancefloors still warm, but somewhere between afternoons in the sun and nights stretching into the morning, the music starts to shift with them. For the August edition of the Elevate Records chart, another ten records emerge from the shelves of the Berlin record store by Cinthie and Meat, capturing some of the sounds currently finding their way into bags.
Moving through Minimal, Tech House and Deep House, the selection is held together by groove rather than strict genre boundaries. Rolling basslines sit alongside deeper atmospheres, playful percussion meets warm chords, and stripped-back club tools share space with records carrying a little more emotion. Some are built for immediate movement, others need a few rotations before their character fully reveals itself.
As always, the chart is less about presenting a definitive list of the month’s biggest records and more about digging: those discoveries made while moving through new arrivals, overlooked corners and records that simply refuse to leave the listening pile. Ten selections from Elevate Records, connected by curiosity, character and that particular feeling when you know a record deserves a place in the bag.
