With “Methods Of Control”, BODJ opens a new chapter, not only as a producer but also as the founder of his newly launched imprint, Methods Of Dance. The debut release sets the tone for the label’s future direction through four club-focused cuts that embody his signature off-kilter approach — groove-led, understated, and built with a clear understanding of what works on a dancefloor.
Opening the EP, “Purple Noon” wastes little time establishing its intentions. Built around a driving bassline and rolling percussion, the track locks into a hypnotic groove from the very first bars. Rather than relying on oversized breakdowns or obvious hooks, BODJ allows the momentum to develop naturally, creating a sense of movement that feels both effortless and highly effective.
Short vocal snippets drift in and out of the arrangement, adding character without distracting from the groove at the heart of the track. Combined with subtle techy textures and carefully layered drum programming, they help maintain a constant sense of energy throughout. Every element feels precisely placed, contributing to a track that remains focused on the dancefloor without sacrificing personality.
