The third release on Klasse Wrecks sub-label ELEGAL comes from former Canadian artist duo ADSR, consisting of Dominic Paterson and Todd Nickolas, whose musical hey-days date back to the 90s. Besides a handful of EPs on their go-to label Floorshaker Productions, which were out in-between 1992 to 1994, ADSR also released two albums. While their debut was out on Floorshaker Productions too, the sophomore LP followed on Cargo Records. In 2018 another EP from the duo was released on Rising High Record and included the third part of An Angel Passed as well as new mixes of other previously released tracks from Dominic and Todd. The third installment on the ELEGAL label takes on the same route as the duo’s release on Rising High, namely that of remastering and reworking older material from ADSR. Haunted, which was originally released on Accelerated Emotions, the duo’s debut album, comes – aside from the original – with two remixes: one from ELEGAL label boss Luca Lozano and the other one from original member Todd Nickolas. Addtionally the EP includes a never heard before DAT tape finding called Menace. However, it’s Todd’s rework that we’d like to draw the attention to. A break-esque bass line with almost dub-ish chords and spheric pads, the latter partly worked with a glitch-sound, and matching yet dreamy and haunting vocals complete the take, whose beauty unfolds in the composition of the intertwining melodic components to make the reworked take one of these tracks you just press press rewind – over and over again.
