Renowned artist Mark Hawkins returns to Will Saul’s Aus Music label under his real name and delivers a four tracker, Don’t Give Up, that is as deep as music can get. The man who has had a career in the electronic music scene for more than 25 years, the man who has had releases under several monikers on Len Faki’s Figure label or DVS1’s Mistress imprint, the man who has played in clubs and pubs in the Midlands as well as festivals worldwide heralds the next step of his career, namely that of amalgating his musical influences into one sound. The EP’s title track Don’t Give Up is based upon a raw and lush bass line which is supported by an intriguing vocal and some deep-cosmic chords making Hawkins approach a mixture of various sounds and his aforementioned influence.
