ART:CAST SPECIAL by Switchdance

Known for his eclectic psychedelic, industrial, new-wave influenced gothic melodies Portuguese artist or rather Lisbon scene’s thinker as well as controller Switchdance is as versatile as his music when it comes to his assignment. As a resident at Lux Frágil he’s not only played alongside his favorite musicians, in fact Marco Antão, Switchdance’s real name, has brought credible, aspiring or well-known artists to his hometown. Moreover, the all-rounder is the co-label head of Karakter Records alongside Petro Martins delivering quality with each release and call attention to artists that have to be introduced to a wider audience. Speaking of the latter, Switchdance himself gathered international prestige when releasing ‘O Amolador’ on Innervisions as part of their Secret Weapons series and was followed by remixes and tracks on Galaktika, Sol Selectas and, of course, Karakter Records. Switchdance’s art:cast special is probably as carefully selected and compiled as Marco’s releases since the session was recorded at his resident club Lux Frágil as part of his performance with Lena Willikens at the end of last year.
