Brax Moody and Vamparela, better known under their Local Suicide alias, have been a scene’s mainstay since 2008 and taking it by storm with both: their DJ-performances and productions. Eleven years later Local Suicide deliver another essential EP, ‘Leopard Gum’, on Chloé’s Lumière Noire label, team up with vocalist Nicki Fehr and endow it with remixes from Ivan Smagghe, Lauer and Niv Ast. The latter Tel Aviv-producer proves why he’s been fancied by basically everyone delivering a remix for Fort Romeau’s latest joint ‘DADA’ or a original on Steve Bug’s Pokerflat. With his work for Local Suicide’s ‘Already There’ Niv Ast creates a dark synth driven musical piece that accentuated inweaves Nicki Fehr’s vocals while bass line and chords whipping the listener forward like a jockey does its horse when shortly before the race is over a preliminary canter makes sure everybody joins the ride.
