PREMIERE DAF ‘Goldenes Spielzeug (LOR Remix)’ [Grönland Records]

German avant-garde post punk techno-band DAF, short for Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft, was formed in Dusseldorf in 1977 as a five piece group that winnowed down to two members in the end, Gabi Delgado and Robert Görl. Almost 40 years after their first album, ‘Ein Produkt der Deutsch-Amerikanischen Freundschaft’, a special vinyl box, consisting of the very first four albums and 15 exclusive reworks, is set to be released including LOR’s remix for DAF’s cut ‘Goldenes Spielzeug’. The Belfast based producer comes along with a clean interpretation of the original that finds its home in the space between the house and techno genre, simply using few synth chords to emphasize DAF’s lyrics and make the track sound like a timeless yet contemporary piece of music that retells a piece of electronic music’s history in the presen,t or as DAF would say it’s ‘a golden toy’ for the dance floors.
