exclusive | Merov – Spirit Spaceship | Groove To Grave

On the B1 of “Interdimensional Groove“, Merov EP on Groove To Grave, “Spirit Spaceship” settles into a groove that feels effortlessly controlled – funk-driven, low-end heavy, and built with patience. The bassline does most of the talking: thick, elastic, and rolling forward with purpose, while tight drums and warm Rhodes chords lock everything into place. Clavinet licks add just enough edge, keeping the rhythm alive without ever tipping into excess.

It’s in the details where the track really breathes. Bleepy FX drift through the mix like distant transmissions, while airy pads and synths stretch the space around the groove. The mid-break introduces a French vocal snippet – slightly detached, almost floating – before everything drops back in, deeper and more hypnotic. Nothing feels forced, every element earns its place.

“Spirit Spaceship” doesn’t chase peaks. It sits in that late-night pocket where groove and texture carry the weight, unfolding slowly and doing exactly what it needs to. Subtle, functional, and deeply locked-in – this is where Merov’s sound speaks the clearest.
