22 Recordings, a Barcelona-based label run by Marine Damico and Cruz Orozco, readies its second release, a V/A – 22247 – consisting out of four tracks moving back and forth within the deeper and minimalistic House cosmos. The EP kickstarts with Argentinian producer and Nila’s Quest collective member TOBI, who contributes some (un)Real Love to the musical conglomerate. However, the artist’s track comes in a Nightmare Mix and therefore explores musical darker territories or the more melancholic side of it. Consequently (un)Real Love (Nightmare Mix) is based upon a melo-synth-line, which in the course of the track culminates in a nightmare-ish the-clock-strikes-twelve-sequence and Ghost Hour heralds. In the last part of the track initially introduced synth-line is picked upon again as if nothing had happened before. Altogether TOBI delivers a highly infectious spooky take, which addresses and messes with one’s mind on the floor. Pure bliss and certainly a strong and considerate way to start the EP.
