After his Replica Material EP and a contribution to Robert Johnson’s Lifesaver compilation – both out in the fourth quarter of 2020 – Damiano von Erckert is back on Will Saul’s Aus Music label to take on remix duties for Cinthie’s City Lights,which was originally released on her album Skyline City Lights last summer. The AVA.-head Damiano and Elevate-owner Cinthie cultivate a deep friendship so having DvE remixing City Lights seems to be a natural process of bringing together two of the (Deep)House-scene finest showcasing their talent, skills, love and respect for the music. In typical Damiano-manner the artists reworks City Lights into a continuous Housey-take that contains the strings from the original but due to a rather four-to-the-floor bassline and omitting the Disco-esque elements is a decent approach to make people believe in the power of House. The way Damiano weaves the vocals into his remix at the end when already having created an addictive groove makes his version of City Lights shine brighter than all street lights together.
Cinthie’s City Lights will be released on Aus Music on May 14th, 2021.
