exclusive | Retrospect – Don’t Go | Supervision

Opening the “Supervision04 EP” by Retrospect, “Don’t Go” wastes no time in setting the tone. As the A1 and first impression of Supervision’s long-awaited return, the track feels perfectly poised – confident without excess, relaxed yet irresistibly propulsive.

Built on crisp, break-ish rhythms, “Don’t Go” sits comfortably in that sweet spot between House and UK Garage. The tempo never rushes, never drags – just enough swing to keep bodies loose and heads nodding. A warm, catchy yet deep synth line threads through the groove, instantly memorable without overpowering the rhythm, while female R&B vocal snippets drift in and out, adding a sense of late-night intimacy.

What makes the track work so effortlessly is its balance. There’s clarity in the arrangement, space between elements, and a deep understanding of how subtle tension and release can move a dancefloor without brute force. It’s the kind of opener that doesn’t demand attention but earns it – drawing dancers in, locking them into the groove, and gently nudging the energy upward.

As an EP opener, “Don’t Go” does exactly what it should: it invites, it seduces, and it sets expectations high. Break-led, House-minded, and soaked in UKG feeling, this is Retrospect at his most fluid – and a perfect start to Supervision’s next chapter.
