Remoto Records meets absolutely on music

There are record stores that sell music, and there are record stores thatĀ hold culture. Remoto Records belongs firmly to the second category – a sanctuary for deep diggers, curious ears, and those who take their wax as seriously as their coffee. So whenĀ absolutely on musicĀ teamed up with this Hamburg institution for a livestream, the stage was set for a night that celebrated not just selectors, but the spirit of the city itself.

What unfolded felt less like a broadcast and more like an extended conversation between Hamburg’s musical personalities – each set adding a chapter, each artist shaping the room in their own image, all of it rooted in the shared reverence that defines Remoto’s shelves.

Christian KlugeĀ opened with an experimental and ambient set that immediately set the tone: patient, searching, beautifully unsettling. This wasn’t background music – it was a constellation of textures made for listeners who lean in rather than lean back. A sophisticated prelude that reminded everyone just what kind of place Remoto is.

50PHIEĀ carried that energy forward with a dub-techno–infused trip that swelled into a warm, irresistible groove. Airy delays, thickened low-end, and a sense of flow so smooth it felt like she was rearranging the molecules in the room. A lesson in restraint and pulse.

ThenĀ Finona RiderĀ flipped the dial. Techy, percussive, minimal, dark – her set was a tunnel, a push, a pressure system, but always with that vital through-line:Ā the groove. It was driving but never overwhelming, sharp but never cold. A proper gear-shift and one of the night’s standout transformations.

Holger Breuer, head of Torture the Artist and long considered one of Hamburg’s most reliable tastemakers, followed with a set that felt like a guided tour through his musical DNA: housey warmth, deep emotional threads, UK-minimal swing, and that signature selection flair that always feels both current and timeless. Uplifting, spirited, and unmistakably Holger.

To close,Ā CasparĀ eased the room down without ever letting it fade. Housey, breezy, a little laid-back but still anchored to the dancefloor – the perfect descent after Holger’s ascent. A sunset set in the middle of the night, tying everything together with charm and finesse.

In the end,Ā absolutely on music meets Remoto Record.Ā wasn’t just a livestream. It was Hamburg showing Hamburg to itself: refined, curious, groovy, weird, warm, and deeply, deeply connected to the craft of selecting. A celebration of the city’s sound, its selectors, and one of its most vital musical homes.

A night worth replaying – and remembering.
