Surrounded by towering shelves of wax in DBH Music’s legendary Frankfurt warehouse, absolutely on music celebrated its second anniversary with DBH Music with a livestream that felt more like a shared musical journey than an online broadcast. Six artists, six chapters, and thousands of records served as both backdrop and inspiration. The result: an evening that honored vinyl culture in its purest form – groove-driven, diverse, and deeply human.
Matt Schildger opened the stream with a warm and patient touch, his deep and minimal sound setting the tone for the hours ahead. Each track seemed to breathe with the warehouse air – stripped-back but rich in atmosphere, a subtle invitation to tune in rather than switch on.
Holger Breuer followed with a fluid mix of Deep House, UK Minimal, and a touch of French funkiness, seamlessly blending elegance with drive. His transitions radiated musical curiosity, bridging introspection and motion – the kind of set that reminds you why he’s regarded as one of Hamburg’s sharpest selectors.
JoYo took over next, steering the flow further inward with a distinctly deep Minimal approach. Spacious percussion and understated basslines unfolded like clockwork, pulling listeners into a hypnotic state – understated but irresistibly groovy.
Goelza kept the pulse steady yet injected fresh energy with a set that explored Minimal shaded by an electro twist. The sound was wiry, punchy, and subtly futuristic – a nod to the genre’s roots while keeping an eye on the horizon.
Robert Drewek, one of Frankfurt’s most respected figures and a driving force behind DBH itself, shifted the focus toward timeless House. His selection of House and Deep House grooves felt effortlessly classic – warm, rolling, and delivered with decades of vinyl expertise.
Closing duties fell to Christian Schildger, who flipped the vibe into high gear with a rave-tinged fusion of breaks and electro. His set pulsed with afterhours energy – edgy yet euphoric, like a sunrise creeping through the warehouse windows.
From deep beginnings to rave-lit endings, the absolutely on music meets DBH Music – 2nd anniversary edition captured the spirit of community, curation, and continuity. Each artist carved their sonic space, yet together they told one cohesive story – a love letter to records, rhythm, and the timeless art of playing them.
In a time where streams often feel fleeting, this one lingered – not for its visuals, but for its authenticity. A celebration of sound, of selectors, and of the spaces that keep the needle moving.
