Some tracks don’t just groove – they linger. “Chaira Alma”, the B1 cut from Bassam’s “The Alma Diary” on somewhere…, is one of those late-night shapeshifters: hypnotic, techy, and subtly emotional. Rooted in a slick, low-slung rhythm, it glides through the club with a knowing pulse, each element measured and deliberate.
A darker synth line snakes beneath the groove, giving the track its nocturnal edge, while whispered spoken vocals drift in like inner thoughts caught between bass hits. But it’s the break that defines it – brief, padded, and strangely nostalgic, like déjà vu on a dancefloor. Just dreamy enough to pull you out of your body before the beat snaps you back.
“Chaira Alma” can be a peak-time weapon, a mood-setter, a space-shifter. The kind of track that doesn’t ask for attention, but keeps it once it has it.
