It’s time for the second Steamy Pizza Box from (almost) Milanese Valerio Vaudano, who readies the second outing on his own label which comes with five tracks taking one back to the early House Music days. Vibey, the EP’s name or the umbrella term for Valerio’s conglomerate of music, smoothly blends elements and soundscapes from the present with a touch of nostalgic atmosphere from the past. So basically Vaudano takes us through his career and preference with this EP and makes clear, that a vintage sound does not need to sound outdated but fresh, ambitious and modern. While the EP kicks off with some 90s flavored dreamy House track, it’s the A2 that has everything a dance floor needs these days. It’s to argue whether UMM could be a reference for Amnesia or not, fact is that the track is a peak time House take with concise vocals, “I am the soul-shaker“, and uplifting chord-sequences paired with a lush bass line. If Amnesia does not make a difference in your sets, you surely missed the chance to integrate this dance floor weapon properly in your set. Sure shot!
